The internet is just another facet of what we consider reality, or at least what we consider reality, or that which we perceive through our interaction with our surround environment. It can be misconceived as another dimension of reality, but this is untrue. The internet was created, as a means of global communication, a way for the government to tap into and strengthen the world in which we live.
Perhaps the internet is mans way of a higher realization of the human necessity to interact and eventually become one as a whole.
The human brain is rapidly evolving, almost on the same plane as the internet evolves. The ability to globally share a unified knowledge becomes necessary in order to perceive reality on a higher level.
The internet is also an extension of our ego as we continue down the course of our lives. It can become a “second” reality for some, a means of escape, a platform or sorts to serve as jumping off point of where our boring “ lives” leave us empty and unfulfilled. A place where all our dreams come true, taking us to far off magical places, an environmet where we feel sheltered and somewhat complete.
As the internet grows and the human race becomes unified, our culture diminishes, and since art is rooted in culture it too is dying out, becoming less varied and fresh.
The internet artist comes into the picture here as the harbinger of a culturla awakening, or a realization that the internet is the final frontier of our perception of reality, of what our reality will soon become, without the presence of the internet artist, the web would become just another extension of a unified, uncreative, exhausted “gigantic brain-creature”. A switch for creativity that would otherwise be lost in such a technologically saturated world, he internet artist is too evolving ways to deliver artworks via the web in order to keep the masses stimulated and prevent a culture from dying, or at least they can slow the progression that mankind has set for itself, a grim path of cultural genocide through unification.
